The Treasurer is a key officer on the LeftRight 4 U Foundation's Board, responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of the organization and ensuring fiscal responsibility. This position requires a strong understanding of financial management, transparency, and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Financial Oversight:

Provide financial leadership to the board, offering insights on the organization's financial health, risks, and opportunities.

Collaborate with the finance committee to develop and review financial policies and procedures.
Budget Management:

Work with the executive director and finance committee to develop an annual budget aligned with the organization's strategic goals.

Monitor and report on budget variances, providing explanations and recommendations as needed.
Financial Reporting:

Prepare and present regular financial reports to the board, highlighting key financial metrics, cash flow, and financial performance.

Ensure that financial reports are clear, accurate, and accessible to board members.

Financial Planning and Forecasting:

Work with the finance committee to develop long-term financial plans and forecasts that align with the organization's strategic objectives.

Provide financial input into strategic decision-making processes.
Cash Management:

Oversee the organization's cash flow and ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet operational needs.

Monitor banking activities and maintain relationships with financial institutions.
Financial Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all relevant financial laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.

Coordinate audits or financial reviews as required and implement audit recommendations.
Investment Oversight:

Work with the finance committee and, if applicable, investment advisors to manage the organization's investments responsibly.

Develop and implement investment policies in line with the organization's goals and risk tolerance.
Fundraising Support:

Collaborate with the development or fundraising committee to align financial strategies with fundraising goals.

Provide financial insights into fundraising campaigns, grant applications, and donor relations.
Financial Training and Education:

Educate board members on financial matters, ensuring that all members have a basic understanding of financial statements and organizational finances.

Facilitate financial literacy training for board members as needed.
Collaboration with the Executive Director:

Work closely with the executive director to align financial strategies with the organization's operational plans.
